Team CBC Training Ride - 35 miles

Good ride - was fun - we got rained on - not too bad - Had a problem - tone of the screws on my left disk brake came loose - when I went to stop it torched the disk and bent it locking up the wheel -I had to remove the brake to finish the ride - this is the first time Turtle 3 had ever given me a problem - I was only going about 12 mph really glad this did not happen coming down a hill at 40 mph - otherwise a good ride -

Team CBC 50 miles Big Apple Route

Really good ride - beautiful weather - not even too warn considering it is the middle of June.  Turtle 3 ran beautifully no problems, I started with  he 17-18 mph group and did fine until about mile 20 after we picked up three cyclist from a faster group after that I could not keep up with the pace - we made a wrong turn and added 5 miles to the route but is was not a problem - when we got to the mid ride rest stop I had decided to return to the Traven but the 16-17 mph group got to the rest stop so I jumped in with  hem and was able to do that pace with out problem - so I did get to do the full ride and a little extra for a total of 55 miles - I installed the new mirror support arms before the ride to see if they would get in the way - they make it a little harder to get off but otherwise no problems - I will get the mirrors and computers mored to them before the next ride - I am hopping the will work as well as I hope -

Great run - yes we got rained on but not too much - at least it helped it stay coolest - this was our first hilly run and everyone did very well also we at very close to our planned average pace - i was a little worried either because I was not able to run during last week or because of running two halfs in the last three week but I did great - I really enjoy leading the Honey Badgers - next week 8 miles - no problems or pains

NCRC Inv. Half Marathon

Good run - Ran the whole time with Jon Turner - always a good time, Meri joined us at about mile 8 - was great to have them running with me I am sure it helped me push a little harder than I would have on my own - I was pleased to finished and am not unhappy with my time this is a very hilly half and it was very very muggy even if the temp was not real high - it was fairly warm compared to what we have been running in lately - they had said they were closing the race at three hours - was so very pleased to see the clock still up and running when I came in - 3 hours seemed very short for the hard of a route - very well done race - all support stations were opened and maned for us back of the packers - I ran the first 12 miles but walked almost all of the last mile - I think I finished forth from the last - nice not to be DFL today - Saw Bo, Brad and a number of other running friends on the course and Micki, Ivy and John at the finish - nice to be welcomed in by friendly faces - no problems or pains just still slower than I would like to be - good race -

26.2 with Donna Half Marathon

Good race - started with Emily, Meri and Jon.  Jon and Meri were pacing the 6:30 runners - I was able to hang with them for three miles but was really was a bit too much for me so Emily and I dropped off and slowed up a bit - with in a mile I was recovering and we had a good run from there on - I really enjoyed the run - Emily is a great running partner.  I was very very cold and windy but at least the Sun was bright and the shy was blue. I was a good race.

Good run nice to be back running with the gang. I was a little tired form a busy day Saturday but other wise OK.  One some problem at about mile 4.5 I tripped on my own trekking pole and fell - I landed pretty well mostly on my right side - did not hit my head - right side is sore and bruised with a few cuts - not bad but I am sore. Other wise no problems of pains -

Trail run in Umstead

I had a real nice and fun run.  Not sure how the GPS on my Forerunner got turned off but it was off, ashamed I would really liked to have seen this runs path.  Well it was and pretty and interesting run. My poles worked well and really do seem to help me fell more stable while running on the uneven paths.
