Tir na nOg Run Club 14th run

I had a good run - felt good and feet were pretty good - I did have a little leg pains but not bad and they did fade - same pains I had this morning - it was pretty warm and a bit muggy - saw Jon, Emily and Meri - we had a nice time together - I felt pretty good considering I run 6 miles this morning, rode 42 miles Sunday and rode 70 miles Saturday

The Clydesdale Turtle runs a 10K

Yes I am the Clydesdale Turtle - LOL - big and slow but at least we are moving - well any way I had a good run and for me it was a first - my first 10K run alone non stop and self supported - while not a big deal for my running friends it was a challenge for me and I did well - it was nice and cool this morning not getting warm until the last miles and a half and about 85% of it was shaded - next time I think I will run it the other way I think it would be better that way but was a nice run and I liked running form my home it is just so easy - feet are sore but that is not unusual - Achilles is hurting a little but really is not too bad - I am not doing everything I can to be able to run Tir na nOg this evening - I had a few other little pains but nothing bad and all faded and I have read that little pains that may come up like this is not unusual and as long as they fade it is not a problem but if one gets a sharp pain then that is something to be concerned about - I hope this is true because I get little dull pains and the have all faded - I removed the KT Tape yesterday before I showered after the ride because I wanted to reapply new tape before the run this morning - I am getting better at applying it and am real happy with this application - I have found that is it peal up for any reason if I apply alcohol to the area of the tape and then hold it against my skin it reactivates the adhesive and it will stick again - this is nice - foot pod did not work today so no Cadence today.
You know I will always be big but I am still working on not being fat in spite of the fact that I am currently not making any progress - so I will always be big so I am and will always be a Clydesdale and I am proud of it Clydesdale horses are noble massive power beasts - what not to like - also I am slow there for a Turtle - I do everything slow so it is no surprise that I walk and run slow - I am not saying I would not like to be faster and I am sure I will develop some increased speed and I improve and lose more weight but I will never be fast - I am not built like a deer I am built like a Clydesdale - now Clydesdale do have one thing to their advantage at what ever speed we can develop we can continue to run that speed for a long long time - once I can get my hooves, I mean feet tough enough to take the distance I will work on improving my speed
OK now it is time for some active recovery - LOL

Team CBC Brewery Ride

Well not one of my best rides - It started out by me hearing someone complaining but not to me that I would slow the ride down - this bothered me because even though I cannot keep up with any group going up hills I can usually catch up on the down hills and flats but I have not asked or expected anyone to alter their speed or to wait for me so I was not feeling that great at the start - sometimes is is not great having exception hearing - I was also worried about my trike - her rear wheel was leaning to the left - I later found out the frame was bent - I got sick at about 24 miles but made it to the rest stop at 32 miles- I told me group I was ill and that I know where I was and was going to eat something and rest s little and then ride to the start - this is what I did and I felt pretty good after my rest and enjoyed the rest of the ride back to the brewery
I am not sure why I got sick - maybe I did nothing wrong and it just happened which it does sometimes - or maybe I was pushing too hard I was riding a bit harder than was comfortable - after about five miles I was not worrying about what I heard and was riding well and enjoying the ride - I was keeping up with the group pretty well but since I cannot climb hills and cannot corner as fast as a road bike I would drop back and then catch up later on the flats - I was pulled back to the group a couple of time and one of the group waited at a turn later in the ride so I would not miss the turn which I would have missed if he had not done so - thank you - by this point I was feeling really poorly and I saw the group twice in front of me before I lost them - it was no problem losing them becasue I was on the rode where the rest stop would meet
We did have a good gathering after the ride and it was really nice the team is doing well and there were a lot of folks at the gathering

Team CBC 70 mile Saturday ride

A really good ride - not perfect I was not real fast today and had a blood sugar dip during the 12 miles not full Hypoglycemia but bad enough - I ate and keep pedaling and recovered - I was off the back several times and Tim pulled me back at least three times - I really enjoyed the ride - we had 21 cyclist - we had great weather almost cold one time - there was a good bit of wind but ti was a tail wind for the first two thirds but a head wind for the last third - we had a nice gathering after the ride at the Ale house - I went to Fleet Feet to pick up my Tir na nOg but they did not have any but said they would call me when they got some - I picked up my new Nimbus 12 running shoes from Raleigh Running Outfitters - the look pretty cool and feel great - I realized that I now own 4 pair of running shoe - who am I now?

Friday Lunch Run

Daha - maybe my worse run ever - I must run between 11:00 and 11:30 AM if I want to do a lunch time run which I am very happy to be allowed to do but today I was having the beginnings of a Hypoglycemia when I was starting the run I had eaten and was still eating while beginning the run but I was not doing well - I walked the first 7 minutes - I was feeling pretty poorly at about half way I started to feel better and during the last third I was running better but never felt as well as I usually do - maybe I should not have run but it was interesting to see how I could recover while walking then running - my time was terrible but still better than not running and I am feeling better now than I usually do after Hypoglycemia
